Survey of the residents of the City of Bijeljina as part of the European Mobility Week

In line with the strategic commitment for Bijeljina to become a CITY OF THE FUTURE by 2030, the City Administration of the City of Bijeljina is preparing and implementing a series of programs, projects, and activities that create the prerequisites for sustainable economic, social, and environmental development.

Accordingly, the City Administration of Bijeljina, through numerous promotional activities, marked the EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK for the seventh time from 16 to 22 September 2024, with the goal of raising awareness and promoting healthy, active ways of movement through the affirmation of the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on SDG 3 (good health and well-being), SDG 11 (sustainable and inclusive cities and communities), SDG 13 (climate action), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals).

The theme of this year’s European Mobility Week was “Shared Public Space,” and the seven-day activities included citizen surveys, raising awareness about the need and importance of urban mobility, opening a street in the city centre for pedestrians in the evenings (ban on motor vehicle traffic), thematic workshops for students, a recreational bicycle ride, roller skating, organizing outdoor training, and monitoring traffic frequency.
