Private sector survey on business conditions in the City of Bijeljina
In October and November 2014, a survey was conducted among companies operating in the City of Bijeljina, with the aim of collecting information on the business sector’s perception of the local business climate. This survey was part of the local community’s strategic planning efforts focused on the city’s future. The purpose of the survey was to provide useful and reliable information to the City Administration regarding the views of those who invest, create jobs, and employ people within the City of Bijeljina.
The survey included questions aimed at assessing the general business climate in the city, as well as the level of satisfaction of business owners with the quality of services provided by the local self-government, the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, and the business associations (the Bijeljina Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Bijeljina Entrepreneurs’ Association “Preduzetnik”). The questionnaire covered company history and structure, the nature of their business, average annual revenue, workforce and employment issues, services provided by the City Administration and the relationship with it, as well as overall impressions of the city as a place to do business.
The purpose of the survey was to collect information that would help the City of Bijeljina manage private sector development and overall community economic development in a more effective and systematic way, to assess the satisfaction of the private sector with the services of the City Administration and the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as communal services, in order to improve public-private dialogue in the City of Bijeljina and define key topics for future joint consideration and resolution through public-private dialogue.
