Partnership for the development of the City

Administration of the City of Bijeljina has founded an advisory body ‘Partnership for the development of the City’ with a goal of more active participation of the citizens in the management and decision making processes related to the development of the City.
 
This body will be the key mechanism for the participation of community in the local development, or the instrument for communication of the citizens with the City Administration.
 
Partnership brings together around fifty key stakeholders of the local life and development. They are representatives of the City Administration, public institutions and enterprises, representatives of the business/private sector (enterprises and entrepreneurs) and the civil sector.
 
Active involvement of citizens in the management and decision making processes, in accordance with the standardised Methodology for Integrated Local Development Planning (MiPRO) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a strategic commitment of the City of Bijeljina. As a part of this activity, the City of Bijeljina formed the group ‘Partnership for the development of the City’ (hereinafter: Partnership) as the key mechanism for the participation of the community in local development, directed towards realisation of citizens’ influence on decision making related to economic and social development and environmental protection. Partnership has three sectoral groups:
  1. Economic Council,
  2. Sectoral partnership group for social development, and
  3. Sectoral partnership group for environmental protection.
 Partnership for the development of the City of Bijeljina is an advisory body of the City, appointed by the mayor, and it is the key mechanism for participation of the community in the management of local development, or instrument of communication between citizens and the City Administration.
