Economic Council is the working body which:
  • monitors current issues related to economy in the City and suggests appropriate measures and recommendations in order to improve economic development,
  • provides opinions, recommendations and initiatives related to preparation, reporting on and revision of strategic development plan of the City and implementation plans,
  • considers important development issues and issues related to improvement of business environment and competitiveness,
  • submits initiatives (proposals, measures, recommendations) for the improvement of the total business environment in the City of Bijeljina,
  • provides advisory support for the mayor when deciding on economic development of the City, developmental programmes and projects,
  • monitors all issues of interest for the economy and local economic development, and suggests activities for improvement of administrative procedures to the competent local authorities,
  • considers and provides opinion on proposed acts governing local fees and charges,
  • cooperates with business entities, institutions, authorities, organisations and their associations, associations of manufacturers, processors, and other interest organisations, in issues from their scope of work, considers other issues related to the economy and local economic development in the City of Bijeljina.
