Survey of the residents of the City of Bijeljina as part of the European Mobility Week
In line with the strategic commitment for Bijeljina to become a CITY OF THE FUTURE by 2030, the City Administration of the City of Bijeljina is preparing and implementing a series of programs, projects, and activities that create the prerequisites for sustainable economic, social, and environmental development.
In accordance with this commitment, the City Administration, through numerous promotional activities, marked the EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK for the second time during the period from 16 to 22 September 2020, with the aim of raising awareness and promoting healthy, active modes of movement by affirming the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on SDG 3 (good health and well-being), SDG 11 (sustainable and inclusive cities and communities), SDG 13 (climate action), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals).
The theme of this year’s European Mobility Week was “Zero-emission Mobility for All,” and in that context, the week-long activities included citizen surveys, awareness-raising on the need and importance of urban mobility, opening a street in the city centre for pedestrians during the evening hours (banning traffic for motor vehicles), thematic workshops for educators and students, a recreational bike ride, a roller-skating event, prize distribution, outdoor training sessions, traffic frequency monitoring, as well as a cultural and artistic program.
As mentioned, one of the activities during the observance of European Mobility Week was also a survey of the residents of Bijeljina, with the aim of encouraging greater citizen participation in decision-making processes related to improving the quality of life in the City of Bijeljina.

Method: Online questionnaire and in-person surveying of citizens in the city centre
Instrument:A survey was created for the purpose of the research, consisting of a set of questions directly related to the theme of this year’s European Mobility Week, “Zero-emission Mobility for All”
Survey goal:Citizen satisfaction with cycling infrastructure in the City of Bijeljina
Sample size: 1,021residents of the City of Bijeljina
