Section work plans
Section for Local Economic Development and European Integration (hereinafter: Section for LED and EI), is an independent organisational unit which was a part of the Office of the Mayor until February 2018. Since then, it functions as an independent section and according to its jobs description it is closest to the Unit for development management. It is an organisational unit which coordinates planning and implementation of projects, and actively cooperates with all departments of the City Administration of the City of Bijeljina and is responsible for managing project identification process, their preparation and implementation. One of the important tasks of the Section for LED and EI is to gather all relevant stakeholders in the community and to cooperate with them, as well as establishing and managing public-private dialogue.
Also, the Section for LED and EI is responsible for local self-government modernisation projects, through introduction of electronic administration and quality services for citizens and commercial sector, as well as implementation of numerous projects and measures related to the development of economic, social and cultural life. Their specific responsibilities include care for projects related to energy efficiency. All of the above explains the diversity of projects managed by the Section for LED and EI.
This Section is responsible for monitoring the EU integration process, hence the name. This includes presentation of potentials, achievements of the City and cooperation with the donors, coordination of work with them, preparation, proposal of projects to the relevant international donors and EU pre-accession funds (IPA), as well as implementation of projects significant for the development of the City. The Section has young and very competent human resources, with excellent computer English language skills, who are fully capable of preparing project proposals, which are used to continually and successfully apply for the funds from the international funds.
The Section is directly responsible for implementation of projects and measures from the Development Strategy, as well as for establishing certain strategic documents: Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan, in coordination of activities with all relevant departments and external partners.
